Patinated Oak Vessel treated with iron oxide, lime and finished with a danish oil and burnished with a stiff brush.

Our Southease bowl is a tribute to the local rolling hills around our workshop in the South Downs but also references a mixture of historical forms, the spine of sorts that runs around the outside of the bowl was inspired by a prehistoric vessel found in England whist the concave base that leads to the foot references the base of several Greek and Roman works that caught our attention. The complexity of the form requires a fine eye to ensure a pleasing proportional balance.

This Oak is sourced from Plashett woods in Little Horsted, East Susse

H: 17cm x D: 20cm

Product Care

Our vessels are intended as sculptural and artistic works that are only suitable for dried goods if you should choose to accessorise them. When cleaning or dusting the works the best approach we have found is to use a stiff nail brush to buff the textured surface free from any dust or dirt. If they need further cleaning add a touch of water with a damp lint free cloth and buff the surface again with the brush followed by drying the piece off with another lint free cloth.
