Deeply charred oak vessel that was brushed back to reveal the texture of the grain before coating with danish oil and wax and then burnishing with a stiff brush.
Our Southease bowl is a tribute to the local rolling hills around our workshop in the South Downs but also references a mixture of historical forms, the spine of sorts that runs around the outside of the bowl was inspired by a prehistoric vessel found in england whist the concave base that leads to the foot references the base of several Greek and Roman works that caught our attention. A medley of ancientness if you will.
Height: 7.5m
Diameter: 17cm
GBP £340 (inc VAT)
This vessel was crafted from timber framing offcuts acquired from a local sawmill, the Oak itself was from a responsibly managed woodland in Kent.
