#25 - Psykter with Stitch-work Repair

Patinated Oak vessel treated with lime and a touch of fire before coating with danish oil and wax and then repaired with our signature waxed cotton stitchwork.

The Psykter references an ancient Grecian wine cooling vessel of the same name that would typically have a much longer foot than this and was I believe kept floating in cool water, staying afloat due to an internal section of sealed air in the bulbous top section. Ours is of course not intended for this purpose but we do find the history fascinating.

This vessel was crafted from timber framing offcuts acquired from a local sawmill, the Oak itself was from a responsibly managed woodland in Kent.
