Patinated Oak vessel treated with lime and a touch of fire before coating with danish oil and wax and then repaired with our signature waxed cotton stitchwork.

Our Annulus vessel doesn’t reference a specific ancient form but it does have elements of historical vessels reinvented in a contemporary context. The lower half of the vessel echoes the base of a magnificent Roman bowl we fell in love with whereas the top half of the vessel is more of an echo of the lower halves curves. We choose the name ‘Annulus’ (latin for rings, or ring shaped object to be precise) due to the form having a ring-like band around the vessel, similar to certain planetary forms. Whilst quite a challenging form to hollow we have fallen in love with its distinguished and complex curves.

This vessel was crafted from timber framing offcuts acquired from a local sawmill, the Oak itself was from a responsibly managed woodland in Kent.
