#36 - Ewer with Stitch-work Repair

Deeply charred oak vessel that was brushed back to reveal the texture of the grain before coating with danish oil and wax and then burnishing with a stiff brush. Finally it’s mended with our signature stitchwork repair.

This new form we’ve dubbed ‘Ewer’ in reference to its early Roman inspiration that came in the form of a magnificent water jug, definitely one we’ll be exploring further as we’re very much enjoying its form. In this particular case its actually entirely split in two and has been stitched back together.

This vessel was crafted from timber framing offcuts acquired from a local sawmill, the Oak itself was from a responsibly managed woodland in Kent.
