This vessel is our own tribute to Bell Beaker culture, around 4500 years ago and allegedly emanating from Iberia (modern day Spain) this style of beaker became prevalent across the European continent as well as eventually in Britain around 100 years later. It’s a fascinating history with a substantial variation in form and decorative finish to be found across the different archeological sites.

Height: 18cm
Diameter:19cm
Price: £720 GBP (inc VAT)
Origin: English Oak off cuts from Copford Sawmill
Finish: White Limed

The lightest finish we’ve produced as a studio, our white limed surface treatment involves lightly sanding and polishing the surface of raw Oak before rubbing in a white liming solution that beds into the open grain of the timber before buffing it back and sealing with a hard wax oil.

PRODUCT CARE

Our works are intended as sculptural and artistic works and are not suitable for use with water or in wet conditions.

These vessels have been finished with a UV protective danish oil as well as a very fine microcrystalline wax that’s then been buffed to give it a subtle polish.

We recommend cleaning and dusting your vessel with a stiff clean brush, (we tend to use a small nail brush or something of the sort) not only will this help to clean anything out of the textured grain but also serve to further buff the finish underneath. If absolutely necessary use a lint free damp cloth to rub the surface and then dry it off and buff it with a brush in the manner mentioned above.
