#41 - Amphora XII with Carved Handles and Stitch-work Repair (Dec 2024)

Patinated Oak vessel featuring handles all turned and carved from the same single piece of Oak. The piece is treated with lime and a touch of fire before coating with danish oil and wax and then repaired with our signature waxed cotton stitch-work.

A variation of our Amphora form with a very smokey patina, inspired by ancient Grecian water vessels. Each iteration a whimsical interpretation of the original reference, in this particular case featuring an eroded rim crafted through fire and rather striking angular handles.

This vessel was crafted from timber framing offcuts acquired from a local sawmill, the Oak itself was from a responsibly managed woodland in Kent.
