Telscombe Vessel in Country Living – Modern Rustic (Issue 28)
We’re pleased to share that our #37 - Telscombe Vessel in White-Limed English Oak with Stitch-work from our 5th Anniversary Collection has been featured in Modern Rustic, Issue 28, by Country Living UK.
To see this piece included within the Objects of Desire pages of a publication that celebrates houses, products and artisans rooted in material and place feels significant to us. The vessel was shaped from unseasoned English oak, allowing the timber to move and settle naturally as it dried. The white-limed finish softens the surface while revealing the concentric growth rings — time made visible within the form.
The Telscombe silhouette carries a grounded presence — a softened waist, gentle undulation, and a sense of composure. The stitched repair, worked in waxed cotton, is not simply ornamental. It acknowledges tension within the wood and honours the act of holding — of mending — as part of the object’s story. Repair becomes strength. Imperfection becomes character.
We’re especially grateful to the creative team behind the feature:

Thank you to everyone who continues to support and champion handmade work. Seeing a vessel that began as oak in the Sussex landscape find its way into print is always a moment of reflection — a reminder that craft travels from woodland to workshop to the wider world.
